As a woman business owner, what daily challenges are you facing?

I sometimes feel like I am swimming upstream, trying to juggle everything in my life, the business, the family, and finding the time for myself. There never seems to be enough hours in a day to accomplish the tasks before me. Yes, I have become more organized but it is definitely a work in progress.

I would love to hear about your daily struggles and challenges.

SLEEP! My great challenge is keeping to a sleep schedule so that I have the health and energy to keep going at my typical insane pace! I can only imagine how must harder it must be for women who juggle not only a business and a household and relationship, but also children at the same time! However, when I work at it enough and can keep to a 11 pm to 7 am routine of sleep, I eat more healthily, have energy to exercise, and think more clearly about my personal and professional projects. But it’s a constant battle…

Lack of Sales…does this mean I don’t know my customer?

Like many of my colleagues, trying to “do it all” takes it’s toll on my personal life. Someone always needs something, and there’s always a long “to do” list with this frantic pace of internet, social marketing, dynamic changes in industry and economy – so my challenge is not only to “get it done” but to remember, on a daily basis, this is MY life. The one and only – no do-overs, no going back.

  4. My biggest challenge is to laugh it off when men arbitrarily try to tell me how to run my business, or how to run my business bigger and better! My revenge? I try very hard to sign them up as clients. Once I’ve done that, their “advice” turns to comments of praise. The moral? Don’t get angry, and instead tell them what you can do; challenge them to an opportunity to show them that your business is running as it should. You will gain respect that way; loyal clients, and many referrals.
